Who we are

Nudg is a service that watches the web for you: you describe what you want to know about in plain language (a “Nudg”), and we check the relevant source on a schedule and alert you when your condition is met. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

• Account information — your email address, which we use to sign you in with a magic link. We don’t store passwords.
• Your Nudgs — the things you ask us to watch (your queries, target prices, URLs, and the alerts they generate). This is the core of the product.
• Profile preferences — optional details you provide, such as a ZIP code used to localize weather and location-based watches.
• Billing information — if you subscribe, your payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. We receive a customer and subscription identifier and your plan status; we never see or store your full card number.
• Usage and device data — basic logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) generated automatically when you use the site, used for security and to keep the service running.

How we use your information

• To provide the service — create and run your watches and deliver alerts by email or push notification.
• To manage your account and subscription, including billing and support.
• To secure the service, prevent abuse, and debug problems.
• To improve Nudg and understand which features are useful.

Service providers we share data with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the third-party providers we use to operate Nudg, and only as needed:

• Authentication and database providers that store your account and Nudgs.
• A payment processor that handles subscriptions.
• Email and push notification providers that deliver your magic links and alerts.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers that run the application.
• Data sources and search APIs we query on your behalf to evaluate your watches. We send the query needed to answer your Nudg, not your identity.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links on our site and in our emails — particularly links to products and merchants — are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, Nudg may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This is handled through a third-party affiliate network, which may process the click to attribute a purchase. Affiliate relationships never change which results or sources we show you.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage for essential purposes such as keeping you signed in and remembering your session. The affiliate provider above may also set cookies when you click a monetized link.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual Nudgs and alerts at any time inside the app. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the address below and we’ll take care of it.

Security

We use reputable infrastructure providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.

Your choices and rights

You can turn off email alerts at any time in Settings, update your profile, and request access to or deletion of your data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; contact us to exercise them.

Children

Nudg isn’t directed to children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
